DIRECTOR

Brwa Vahabpour, an award-winning director from Trondheim, will be speaker at the GILT Masterclass. Educated at Nordland College of Art and Film and the Norwegian Film School in Lillehammer, Vahabpour has directed critically acclaimed short films such as Granateple, Gjeteren, and Silence, all of which have been screened at prestigious film festivals worldwide. His experience also includes directing episodes of the drama series Jordbrukerne, which premiered at Canneseries in 2021. Now, he is making his theatrical debut with his first feature film, Onkel Jens, set to have its world premiere at SXSW.

In this session, Vahabpour will share his insights on the crucial role music plays in film storytelling and how directors collaborate with composers to create immersive audiovisual experiences.
